A: Look! Jack is in the tree. 看!
杰克在树上。
B: He is picking the pears on the tree. 他在摘树上的梨。
(果实长在树上,常用介词on。)

A: There is a carriage on (at) the street corner.
一辆马车在街角上。
B: He was seated in the corner of the room. 他坐在房间角落里。
(在街角里用on;而在房间的角落里用in。)

A: I read the news in The Times yesterday. 我昨天在《泰晤士报》上看到了这条消息。
B: You must write your names on the papers before you answer questions. 你必须在试卷上写好姓名,再回答问题。
(消息登在报上用in;写在纸上用on。)

A: Don’t read in bed. 别躺着看书。
B: His grandpa is sitting on the bed. 他的祖父坐在床上。
(in bed是固定搭配,意为“躺在床上”。)

A: The man is sitting in the armchair. 那人坐在扶手椅上。
B: There is a baby on the chair. 椅子上有一个婴儿。
(坐在有扶手的椅子里用in。)

(在某物体里用in;在平面或线上用on。)

B: Her father patted her on the back. 她的父亲拍了拍她的背。
(强调接触人体表面较硬的部位时,多用on;身体内部用in。)
