There are a lot of people who have made or are making the
world a better place with their work. Among them, teachers are the ones
most familiar to me.
Eight years ago, I
got a chance to study in England for two years. There I met my teacher
Mrs. Maxwell. She taught all our lessons except music and physical
education. Although she was very busy she was always ready to pay special
attention to those who had troubles in learning. She never blamed us for
learning too slow. She just explained again and again. Seeing the smile on
her face and the hope in her eyes, how could we have the heart to let her
down?
She was especially good to me — a
foreign student. Once she used her money to buy me an English exercise
book. In the days that followed, you can l often see these pictures: there
she was, sitting beside me, explaining the new words and expressions. This
went on until I finished the whole book and my English
was greatly improved. I thanked my teacher from the bottom of my
heart.
Also, I got to know that Mrs. Maxwell had to spend two and a half hours to
travel to work each day, yet she was never absent and never late. This
made me admire and love her even more. I will remember her always, no
matter where I am and what I do, for she is the one who gives out her
eternal love without asking for repay meat.
When I
entered middle school in Beijing, I came to know Mrs. Chen. She was in
charge of our class and she wanted us to be good in every way. So once she
suggested that we should join the Hope project. An-other time, she asked
us to hand in a report on how we spend our pocket money in order to guide
our ways of spending .She loved us as much as she loved her own daughter.
Only she spent much more time on us than on her own child .She worked on
weekdays, at weekends and even during holidays and she was always happy to
do so. It seemed that nothing in the world could please her more than
teaching her students and in return see them make progress day by day.
If we are flower buds, our teachers are the
gardeners that water us and help us to bloom. If we are ships sailing in
the sea, our teachers are the hopes of tomorrow, our teachers are the
people upholding these glorious hopes.
Every man, no matter how great he is,
respects his teachers, because they are the people who work with their
heart and soul to make the world a better place, for their students and
for the entire human race.
